چکیده

Introduction The nondestructive, in-situ testing of early-age concrete properties is a crucial point for the progress of many construction projects in the building sector. The application of such techniques can establish e.g. the earliest possible form removal from concrete construction elements, thereby opening highways to traffic or releasing prestress from steel reinforcement with greatest efficiency. A nondestructive, ultrasonic technique, which measures the reflection coefficient of ultrasonic transverse waves from the concrete surface, was developed at the Center for Advanced Cement-Based Materials [1]. The focus of this research project is to develop a nondestructive field sensor for in-situ monitoring of the setting, hardening, and strength gain of cementitious materials.

Determination of Early Age Mortar and Concrete Strength by Ultrasonic Wave Reflections

The in-situ testing of early age concrete strength is crucial for determining the time of form removal from concrete elements, opening highways to traffic or applying of prestress to steel reinforcement. A nondestructive ultrasonic technique, which measures the reflection loss of ultrasonic transverse waves at a concrete-steel interface, is presented in this paper. The focus is to compare wave ...

Early Age Shrinkage Behavior of Triple Blend Concrete

The early age shrinkage is responsible for the early age cracking of concrete. It is very critical for durability of concrete. The change in volume of concrete due to evaporation of water or dehydration process is known as shrinkage. To reduce the early age shrinkage utilized the supplementary cementitious material (SCM) in concrete. In present research industrial and agricultural waste byprodu...

Influence of Surface Preparation Method on the Concrete Rebound Number obtained from Impact Hammer Test

For concrete strength detection in structures different testing procedures are being used. For nondestructive testing of concrete strength built in the construction the most used impact hammers in technical practice are those of Schmidt system. The hammer rebound value on concrete is influenced by number of factors, these includes the treatment of the test area. In the article there are present...

EVALUATION OF CALCULATION CORRELATION EFFICIENCY AS MENTIONED IN en 13791 IN ORDER TO DETERMINATION CONCRETE COMPRESSION STRENGTH BY NONDESTRUCTIVE TESTING

The paper presents evaluation of correlations for calculation of concrete compression strength using nondestructive testing parameters for both impact and ultrasonic pulse methods, as listed in EN 13791:2007. This standard indicates procedures relating to compression strength determination in construction and building elements. These procedures relate to compression strength evaluation based ei...

Nondestructive Evaluation (nde) Methods for Quality Assurance of Epoxy Injection Crack Repairs

A concrete bridge over Interstate 70 east of Denver, Colorado was impacted by a fork lift being transported by a truck moving at a speed of approximately 75 mph. The forklift impacted the east face of the prestressed concrete I-beam bridge girder, resulting in severe cracking and concrete spalling on both sides of the eastmost girder. Polymer-modified repair mortar was used to repair spalled ar...
